A pre-fabricated shower surround is trimmed with a one-half inch by two-inch solid surface cap bedded over the shower pan threshold. A cementitious backer board receives the shower surround finish, which is matched to the interior elevation. A continuous waterproof barrier is installed underneath the shower finish. Joint sealant is applied at the junction between the solid surface cap and the adjacent wall board.
