A 30-foot pole is anchored to a 24-inch diameter concrete base embedded 6 feet into undisturbed earth. The concrete foundation is reinforced vertically with six #5 rebars and horizontally with #4 ties spaced at 12 inches on center. A mowing strip surrounds the exposed portion of the concrete base, which features a rubbed finish and a 3/4-inch radius top edge. Electrical feed is supplied via a conduit buried at a minimum depth of 1 foot 6 inches, running up into the pole base. Grounding is provided by a #6 bare copper ground conductor with an extra 6-foot coil at the bottom of the excavation, connecting to a ground lug on the pole and a fuse located in the hand hole.
