The aluminum storefront head is positioned below a hollow structural section member, which is sized per structural drawings. A continuous metal flashing system with end dams is installed over the fiber cement panel, maintaining a one-quarter inch clearance from the panel edge to the flashing. A prefinished metal flashing, matched to the window system, is installed at the head, sealed with a backer rod and sealant, and includes tube weeps spaced at twenty-four inches on center. The assembly is finished with fiber cement panel cladding (FCP-1) on the exterior and interior gypsum board.
