This control joint detail accommodates wall movement in gypsum board partitions with a maximum spacing of thirty feet between joints. The gap is filled with either firestopping at rated assemblies or acoustical insulation at non-rated assemblies, supplemented by acoustical insulation within the cavity per the specified assemblies. A surface-mounted control joint profile is centered over the joint between the gypsum board panels.
