An aluminum window wall sill bears on a cross-laminated timber panel assembly with an intervening air and vapor barrier. A foil-faced self-adhesive membrane wraps the rough opening beneath the sill flashing. Metal composite material wall panels terminate below the sill line, sealed with a backer rod and sealant joint. The continuous air and vapor barrier transitions from the timber substrate up behind the metal composite panels.
