An existing structural steel column receives new three-quarter-inch steel transfer plates welded to its flange, which extend horizontally to connect with existing steel framing. A new porcelain enamel wall panel is installed outboard of the structure with a watertight seal applied all around the joint. Interior finishes include seven-eighths-inch vermiculite plaster over metal lath finished with a putty coat, matching existing conditions. At the floor level, an existing concrete slab with finished flooring features a four-inch rubber base. All fireproofing at structural members must be restored to match the original fire rating.
