An upper and lower wood wall bumper guard constructed from two-by-twelve fire-treated unpainted poplar is anchored to a metal stud and gypsum board wall assembly. A marine plywood wall protection panel spans vertically between the two bumper guards, with one-half-inch radii on the top and bottom edges. Countersunk fasteners secure the guards at the top and bottom at every other stud, using dowels sanded smooth with the face of the wood members. A vinyl base sits at the floor level below the lower wall guard.
