A composite metal deck with a concrete topping bears directly on the top flange of a wide flange steel beam. An HSS 3x3 hollow structural section acts as an edge member along the perimeter, welded with a partial joint penetration weld and supported by an L3x3 angle. A 3/16 inch fillet weld connects the angle to the structural steel framing. Reinforcing steel bars are detailed within the concrete slab and edge curb.
