An egress stair guardrail assembly mounts along the rake of a concrete or steel stair with horizontal infill rails spaced at equal vertical intervals between vertical posts. A continuous handrail projects on brackets from the guardrail frame at a height of forty-two inches on one assembly and forty-nine inches on the other above the stair nosing dimension points. Vertical post spacing is dimensioned with equal increments along the stair run.
