Roof Drain Through Tilt-Up Wall Detail

About this detail

Two conditions exist for a roof drain pipe penetrating a concrete tilt-up wall. Condition A features the pipe exiting above the slab, requiring the pipe to be cut flush with the wall, sacked, patched, and caulked, with the interior painted to match the building. Condition B features the pipe exiting below the slab, requiring a minimum 6-inch clearance from the finish grade or surface and a minimum slope of 1/8 inch per foot. At truck yard locations, the pipe for condition B terminates at the face of the wall, and a splashblock or concrete hardscape is required at the overflow outlet as indicated on the site plan.
