A quarter-inch by five-inch by five-inch weld plate is secured to a structural steel column with three-sixteenth-inch fillet welds along its edges. An optional five-eighth-inch diameter erection bolt may remain in place after the weld is completed. A field weld indicated by a one-quarter-inch fillet weld size connects the assembly.
