An HSS 6x6x1/2 horizontal member connects to a vertical HSS 6 post and is positioned with its top of steel one inch below the top of the typical W8 girt. The horizontal member features a welded end plate or connection plate fastened to the inclined W8 girt. Fillet welds of one-quarter inch size are specified at the connections, including top and bottom welding where noted. A nine-inch dimension references the layout offset from grid line 2.
