A gypsum board control joint is incorporated into a typical metal stud wall assembly, spaced at a maximum of thirty feet to the next control joint. The assembly consists of standard metal studs, gypsum board on each side with a control joint accessory, wall insulation where required for thermal or acoustic performance, and insulation fill at the joint cavity. Additional studs are provided at openings in accordance with the partition design.
