This STC 55 rated partition assembly consists of non-structural metal framing with three-and-five-eighths-inch minimum studs spaced at twenty-four inches on center. The framing uses eighteen mil thick studs with a yield strength of thirty-three kilopounds per square inch and a maximum span limit of thirteen feet. The wall cavity contains an acoustic blanket insulation layer. Each side of the partition is finished with gypsum board layers sealed at the perimeter with a one-quarter-inch minimum acoustical joint sealant.
