A recessed cabinet or equipment enclosure is integrated into metal stud partitions with metal corner trim at the opening edges. Non-rated partitions utilize double metal studs around the opening with gypsum wallboard surfacing. Rated partitions incorporate five-eighths inch Type X gypsum wallboard, one inch gypsum shaftliner per UL Assembly U505, penetration firestopping, and twenty gauge sheet metal angles at the sides with J-channels at the top and bottom of the opening.
