Gypsum ceiling framing is supported by a continuous 2-1/2-inch by 3-inch by 20-gauge wall angle attached to the partition at sixteen inches on center maximum. Hanger wires secure the main runner channels spaced at sixteen inches on center maximum, maintaining a one-inch minimum clearance. Cross furring channels attach perpendicular to the main runners, supporting the taped gypsum wallboard ceiling finish. Self-tapping sheet metal screws fasten each channel connection securely.
