A bracing wire is secured to a metal deck with a minimum 20-gauge metal deck profile supporting rigid insulation above. A minimum 12-gauge steel strap, measuring 3 inches wide by 4 inches long, is bent to align with the wire and fastened to the metal deck rib using two number 8 by 1/2-inch self-tapping screws. If self-tapping screws are used with concrete fill over the metal deck, the screws must be set before placing the concrete.
