A one-hour fire-resistant partition head connects to a concrete floor or roof slab protected by sprayed fire-resistive material. A continuous twenty-two gauge minimum three-inch deep leg deflection track attaches to the deck at twelve inches on center maximum. The gap between the slab and the top of the wall is filled with mineral wool insulation. A continuous two-inch wide by twenty-two gauge metal strap secures the gypsum board at eight inches on center maximum. Spray-applied firestop material overlaps a minimum of two inches onto the sprayed fire-resistive material and one-half inch onto the wall.
