A cold-formed steel stud wall terminates below a concrete mezzanine slab poured over metal decking. The assembly includes a two-inch metal stud track at the wall head with two-inch metal studs spaced below open-web joists and covered with gypsum board. A half-inch maximum gap between the top of the gypsum and studs and the bottom of the deck contains a UL-listed fire stop. Mineral wool insulation fills the void above the wall within the deck profile.
