A rigid sheet-metal duct passes through a partition assembly where flexible duct is unacceptable. The penetration includes a metal sleeve sized three-eighths of an inch plus or minus one-eighth of an inch larger than the outside diameter of the pipe. One inch of safing batt insulation fills the annular space. The joint is sealed airtight using acoustic sealant applied over a foam backer rod as required.
