This two-hour rated shaftwall head detail interfaces with a two-inch concrete slab on a metal deck using a minimum two-inch track depth. A fire track cavity shadowline runner is secured at the underside of the slab, accompanied by static fire and smoke sealant matched to the partition rating. One-inch gypsum shaft liner panels are supported by shaft liner attachments and sound attenuation fire blanket insulation where applicable per partition type. Framing includes three-and-a-half-inch studs with Posiklip stud attachments and five-eighths-inch Type X gypsum wallboard fastened exclusively to metal studs.
