An acoustical plaster horizontal access panel is integrated into a gypsum board ceiling assembly supported by steel ceiling joists sized per structural plans. A one-inch acoustical board is secured to the gypsum board using acoustical board adhesive, with a typical latex seal at the perimeter. The assembly is finished with approximately one-eighth-inch thick silk acoustical plaster and a silk acoustical coating. The access panel frame and panel are installed per the manufacturer's specifications to maintain the continuous acoustical ceiling finish.
