An expansion joint assembly spans between framed structural elements with a custom taper fabricated by an expansion joint manufacturer. Flanges wrap around 45-degree chamfered edges with a typical 3/4-inch by 3/4-inch chamfered edge profile. Fasteners secure the components per the manufacturer recommendations with a 4-inch minimum overlap. Caulk and backer rod are applied at panel joints where required per plan.
