An aluminum sliding door is installed beneath a box header or header beam framed with metal studs and clad with aluminum composite panels. A weather barrier is installed over two inches of rigid insulation with clips, accompanied by galvanized sheet metal flashing at the head condition. A one-half-inch clearance is maintained above the door frame, sealed with joint sealant and backer rod.
