Cold-formed steel floor joists bear on load-bearing wall tracks sized per plan or schedule. At exterior end conditions, a piece of stud matching the joist gauge connects to the assembly using four number twelve by three-quarter-inch screws to the joist, accompanied by a closure track requiring a minimum one and one-half inch minimum bearing. At interior conditions, a piece of joist matching the joist gauge is eight inches long and connects with four number twelve by three-quarter-inch screws, accompanied by a closure track requiring a minimum three and one-half inch minimum bearing.
