A vent, duct, or other unit with an integral flange is installed by setting its primed base flange into roof cement over previously installed ply sheets, with the nail flange staggered and spaced at 4 inches on center. Two stripping plies set in asphalt are applied over the flange. A roof membrane specified per FM 90 covers the deck assembly. Lead flashings do not require mechanical fastening.
