A 4-inch square 11-gauge post is embedded vertically into a 24-inch diameter reinforced concrete footing. The footing is poured using concrete and contains a reinforcing cage made of six number 5 vertical bars and a number 3 rebar spiral with a 2-inch pitch. The rebar spiral features three extra turns within the top 5 inches of the cage. The total depth of the concrete footing is 54 inches, with a 6-inch clearance at the bottom and a 3-inch clearance at the top.
