A 3-5/8 inch by 18-gauge diagonal wall brace is installed at approximately 8 feet on center between non-bearing steel studs and the roof deck. The brace features clipped flanges forming a shoe at both ends. The upper end attaches to the lowest portion of the corrugated deck using four screws, taking care not to penetrate the roofing, with an alternative option to attach to the bottom chords of a joist. The lower end connects to the top track of the steel stud wall using four screws. Alternative options for the upper connection include a deep leg track or a clip angle.
