An existing concrete column receives a seismic collar attachment with continuous caulk at top and bottom, and grout injected into the void between the plate and concrete. A new seismic bracing system connects to the column assembly. Adjacent construction features six-inch, sixteen-gauge metal studs with a half-inch plaster board, vapor barrier, and seven-eighths-inch plaster on lath. A new window system with insulated glazing integrates with the assembly, featuring continuous caulk on both sides of the storefront.
