Two structural steel wide-flange beam connections feature shear tabs, doubler plates, and standardized bolt layouts. A continuous shear plate runs through the beam web with two or three rows of bolts on the left condition, while shear plates on each side of the beam web feature one row of bolts on the right condition. Both conditions utilize wide-flange beams sized per plan, connected with fillet welds typically five-sixteenths of an inch. Additional requirements restrict slotted or oversized holes and specify a maximum one-inch gap. Doubler plates are included where required, with thicknesses referenced to structural schedules.
