The wood stair landing bears on structural steel channels with a bent closure plate beyond and a steel angle stiffener below. Treads are one and one-half inches thick, constructed from two layers of five-eighths-inch plywood topped with a single layer of one-quarter-inch hardwood. The structural steel framing is pre-drilled to receive tread fasteners. A stringer per structural plans coordinates with the steel channel header to complete the transition. Wood landing panels finish flush against the stair assembly.
