An intermediate stair landing guardrail assembly is supported by intermediate landing supports as required. A quarter-inch-thick steel closure plate is welded to the end of the stringers. The guardrail system consists of a one-and-a-half-inch diameter painted steel pipe top rail and one-and-a-quarter-inch diameter painted intermediate steel pipe rails, with no interior rails required if less than four inches wide. All connections must be welded and ground smooth.
