An MC12 x 10.6 stair stringer is supported by an L2 x 2 x 1/4 steel angle baseplate welded to the stringer, anchored to a five-inch thick concrete pad reinforced with wire mesh using one 1/2-inch diameter by 3 3/4-inch long galvanized expansion anchor at each stringer. A 1 1/2-inch outside diameter steel pipe guardrail is welded to the top of the stringer channel with a full perimeter weld. The treads consist of 1-inch by 3/16-inch welded bar grating with a non-slip nosing angle on the front edge, while risers are closed with 10-gauge steel channel welded to the stringers.
