A one-and-a-half-inch diameter continuous wood handrail mounts to a vertical guardrail assembly adjacent to the floor edge. The floor assembly consists of a concrete topping slab over subfloor layers supported by a steel wide-flange framing member. The guardrail extends vertically from the level 2 slab edge.
