A continuous twenty-two gauge minimum three-inch deep leg deflection track attaches directly to the underside of a fluted steel deck and concrete floor or roof at a maximum of twelve inches on center. A continuous two-inch wide by twenty-two gauge metal strap provides top attachment for the studs, positioned one inch below the track leg. Gypsum board and studs remain unattached to the deflection track within the upper deflection zone. A scheduled ceiling line intersects the partition below the attachment straps.
