A structural steel lifting lug plate is welded to the top flange of a steel beam sized per plan. The two-and-a-half-inch plate is centered on the beam, with a two-inch plate used at the tower and rae locations. The plate features a one-and-a-half-inch radius pin hole located five inches above the beam flange and eleven inches from one end within an overall length of one foot six inches. A one-half-inch fillet weld secures the lug plate to the beam flange, with magnetic particle testing specified. A typical web stiffener plate is located below on each side per structural drawing S-510.
