A hollow metal frame receives the partition head assembly, featuring a continuous twenty gauge metal runner at the top track and batt insulation sized per schedule within the cavity. Sealant is applied to both sides at the joint between the frame and the gypsum board partition. A note restricts this configuration for openings up to three feet wide.
