The assembly consists of a window head condition where the existing wood lintel is repaired or replaced as required for the new window installation. The exterior face is protected by a layer of Grade D building paper and Sopraseal Stick VP vapor-permeable membrane. A self-adhered flashing is applied at the head, integrated with a weep screed and additional self-adhered flashing layers. The galvanized sheet metal head flashing is set in a continuous bed of sealant to ensure a watertight transition above the window unit.
