An elevator pit ladder is fabricated with two-inch by three-eighths-inch flat bar side rails and one-inch diameter metal rungs spaced at one-foot typical intervals. The ladder is secured to the pit structure using two-inch by three-eighths-inch flat bar brackets fastened with one-half-inch diameter wedge anchors at each leg and bracket. Dimensions establish pit depth, clearance from the first floor line, and light switch locations coordinated with the elevator manufacturer.
