A channel top track connects to a structural steel beam using a slotted deflection clip connector at each metal stud. The metal stud size and spacing are sized per plan, while the structural steel beam is sized per structural drawings. The deflection clip allows vertical movement of the slab above without transferring vertical loads to the non-load-bearing metal stud framing below.
