A metal riser is secured to a steel stair pan filled with concrete and topped with abrasive strips. The concrete fill is placed directly inside the steel stair pan to form the stair tread, incorporating embedded abrasive strips near the nosing for slip resistance. A metal riser plate connects to the front lip of the stair pan assembly, maintaining the finished riser height per the finish floor plan.
