A pipe or similar penetration passes through the roof assembly and is sealed with a sixty-mil non-reinforced PVC sleeve or prefabricated flashing boot over a sixty-mil PVC membrane. The boot is secured at the top with a stainless steel screw clamp over a cushion strip and elastomeric sealant. Contact adhesive bonds the sleeve to the pipe penetration, while a minimum of four appropriate fasteners are spaced evenly around the pipe at the base flange. A two-inch continuous weld secures the overlap, finished with lap sealant on cut edges only. Notes indicate that a pre-fabricated flashing boot may be used as long as the eight-inch minimum flashing height requirement is met, and a double cinch band or sealant is required on square tube steel.
