A galvanized and painted WD-1 cap beam tops the guardrail assembly, which features 2x4 wood members and a light fixture mounted along the north railing. The guardrail stanchions are constructed from double 2x2x1/4-inch angles that are galvanized and painted, fastened to a 3x6 wood decking. The decking sits on a 3x wood nailer bolted to the top of the hollow structural section 4x6 steel beams spaced at 4 feet on center. A knife plate welded to the end of the steel beam connects to the structural framing, supported by a beam per structural requirements that is also galvanized and painted.
