This cross section details a roof membrane lap joint installed over rigid insulation and roof sheathing supported by wood roof trusses. A reinforced membrane covers the rigid insulation, secured with fasteners and fastener plates installed per the manufacturer. Sealant is applied at the membrane lap with a one-and-a-half-inch minimum overlap and a half-inch minimum clearance. The assembly rests on roof sheathing and wood roof trusses sized per structural specifications.
