Six-inch cold-formed metal studs with five-eighths-inch gypsum wallboard extend past the floor level to form a balloon-framed atrium wall. A five-and-one-half-inch ClarkDietrich FastClip or similar bypass clip secures the metal stud to the floor edge. A continuous steel angle provides edge closure for the concrete fill over the metal deck, accommodating a two-inch maximum offset between the tenant side floor and the atrium edge.
