Main runners and one-and-a-half-inch channels are tied with number sixteen gauge galvanized tie wire or saddle ties, with exposed channels painted by the general contractor. Lateral stability is provided by vertical compression struts spaced at twelve feet on center, utilizing cold-formed metal studs or electrical metallic tubing sleeves. Splayed bracing wires and independent support clips at light fixture connections complete the seismic and lateral restraint assembly.
