The jamb assembly consists of USG steel J-runners framing an opening within a shaftwall system. The surrounding wall is finished with two layers of 5/8-inch Type X gypsum board on the exterior and 1-inch Type X gypsum board liner panels on the shaft side. Acoustical insulation fills the stud cavity. A labeled, fire-rated access panel is integrated into the opening to provide maintenance entry.
