A 3-5/8 inch by 18-gauge diagonal wall brace extends from the non-bearing steel stud top track at a roughly 45-degree angle. The brace features a clipped flange forming a shoe at each end for attachment. At the overhead structure, the brace fastens to the lowest portion of the corrugated deck using four screws without penetrating the roofing, or alternatively attaches to the bottom chords of the joist using deep leg track or a clip angle. At the wall framing, the lower shoe attaches to the top track using four screws spaced along the connection plate. The diagonal braces are spaced at 8 feet on center along the wall run.
