A W18x beam frames into the web of a W24x column via a full-depth shear tab with five vertical bolts. Moment welds are indicated at the top and bottom flanges typical on both sides of the incoming beam. A one-half-inch stiffener plate is required on the column web aligned with the beam flanges, featuring five-sixteenth-inch fillet welds typical. The stiffener plate thickness and width are specified to match the W18x beam flange.
