The concrete floor slab terminates at a metal stud wall assembly, with fire safing installed at the deck flutes for fire-rated walls or sound batt insulation at other locations. A structural hollow structural section beam is positioned within the wall cavity, protected by a one-hour fire spray. The exterior wall assembly consists of five-eighths-inch exterior gypsum sheathing with all joints sealed, covered by a fluid-applied air and moisture barrier, and finished with an exterior insulation and finish system. An EIFS deflection joint is provided at the slab edge, and the steel stud connection to the structure is referenced to the structural drawings.
